The Japanese architect Ryue Nishizawa designed this “Garden & House” in Tokyo on a very small lot of just 8 x 4 m. UNstudio’s design for an existing loft located in greenwich village in manhattan explores the interaction between a gallery and living space. the main walls in the loft flow through the space, and together with articulated ceilings create hybrid conditions in which exhibition areas merge into living areas.
Design used to take up a lot of space, with big draughting boards, huge drawings and interns to do all the repetitive and boring stuff. The computer changed everything and reduced the space and staff required to almost nothing.
